Happy Thursday everyone, it’s almost the weekend… which I guess is a good thing for a lot of people. I work pretty much all day everyday, so the weekend is just a concept to me right now.
I am not going to type much or say much because, honestly, today was not a good day and I’m just ready to go to bed. I really dislike how tired that I am right now and how tired my body gets when I’m super stressed out.
Sometimes I feel like I work so hard and for nothing, just for things to happen that push me back again. It is such a draining feeling.
Anyway, here are a few tips for making the perfect tteokbokki, especially if you can’t find it at your local Korean restaurants. I know that they’re getting popular, but they’re still not in every town and city and sometimes, you just want to try it yourself!
First of all, you NEED to soak your tteok. I know that not a lot of recipes tell you to do this, but you wind up with a much softer and less bubble gum texture tteok if you do this.
Second, make sure you mix the sauce into a paste prior to putting it in the pan, it makes sure that it is all incorporated to make sure that you have an even, but flavorful experience.
