Two posts in one day?

Yes! We are catching up on our backlog while still producing content. This means that you might honestly get one blog a day or multiple blogs a day for a while now. I mean, more food for you, am I right?

I am so tired after working all day and I still need to go make dinner in the next 10 minutes. But that’s fine, at least I am doing the things that I need to do 😉

A little history on this dish; let’s go back to the 1st century. We are in ancient Persia. A royal family threatens their chef.

‘If you don’t make what I want (even though I won’t tell you) I will kill you.’ The chef was stressed because he knew that the kitchen staff would also be punished if he didn’t do as he was asked. He had no other choice.

He started to make the Kebab by putting meat into a mortar and pestle and started beating it. He beat it until it was nearly destroyed; it became ground meat. He put the dish together and served it with scorched rice because he had seen the family really enjoy sharing their meals.

He did not die. They loved it. They loved it so much that it’s popularity grew to every royal and rich family in Persia.

When people came in from the Silk Road, they thought ‘I could market this because it’s easy to travel with.’ And that’s what they did. They went from village to village, city to city, and sold this ground meat on a stick. Eventually when it came to Italy, it was used as a meatball that we know today!

Just a few tips; make sure your pan is evenly heated or else it will fall apart. You can use lamb or ground beef with this, but you can also use whatever ground meats that you have on hand. I would serve this with a garlic dipping sauce or something like that because I feel like it really craves a sauce.

Thank you so much for reading this and hopefully cooking along with me! Don’t forget to go follow the Cooking Show! We want to see you cooking with me while learning the history behind the food. There is just something so beautiful about learning to appreciate a meal that you make with your hands, a meal that has been made by millions of people before you, that started somewhere completely different.

If this is your vibe you can find more on Threads and my Discord. These are the places that you can interact with me and tell me what you want to see on the show or in the blog!

And don’t forget to subscribe to the blog!

Thank you again for being here! Have a wonderful day and we will see each other again very, very soon! And don’t forget, even when you don’t believe in yourself, I believe in you. You are cool, you’re amazing, you’re talented, and you are where you are supposed to be. One day your circumstances will be different and that will be okay to, but you will always have Momnoms in your corner
