Mom-A-Rita- for when wine is not enough

I did not think that I would get up another blog this week!

But here I am, pretty much 90% unpacked in the new place, hungry to create new recipes, and able to sit and write for a bit.

The move went a lot easier than I expected.  I’m pretty much in love with my new kitchen, especially since there’s a window in it and the view is spectacular.

New Kitchen!

Braedon loves all of his new found freedom in this apartment, since it’s more baby proofed than our old one.

I love the light, the view, how homey it already feels, and that I feel like it’s actually mine.

That being said, the last few days have not been all fun and games.  I have been working my butt off trying to pack, unpack, decorate, and make it feel like this is somewhere we want to stay for a while.

I finally took a break yesterday and created a couple new recipes for the blog, and planned a little bit of content.  It’s time to get me back on track!

I love how consistent that I’ve been with the blog over the last 6 months.  I hope that this continues.

Our first family meal made in the new place was a seafood paella risotto.  Oh my god.  I was craving both the spanish paella flavor and the creaminess of the risotto, so I decided to come up with an amazing recipe.  Braedon absolutely loved it, he even ate clams!

Such an amazing first meal!

Look out on Monday for the recipe!

I needed a break last night and we don’t have much in the house, so I made a mom-a-rita, because wine is not enough after this move.

Seriously, wine has not been enough lately!

It’s pretty much a margarita made out of whatever you have in the kitchen.  It’s so cool and refreshing after handling a scurrying 10 month old and unpacking at the same time.

  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 2 shots of tequila (preferably silver)
  • 1 shot of triple sec
  • 1 tbs honey
  • Ice

  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a mixer
  2. Serve with Ice and enjoy
Very easy 'margarita' when you really don't have anything in the house.  Just combine tequila, wine, triple sec, honey, and lemonade for a fresh drink!

What is your favorite desk?  I’m in the market for one right now and I could use some opinions!

What is something that you want to see on MomNoms After Dark?  Any particular drink that you’re just craving and want me to make?

Oh, I almost forgot!  Tonight, I’m going to the sneak preview of a new food truck park!  That is going to be my next afterdark post!  Keep an eye out for it!

And don't forget about the pork risotto that I made on Monday
