Amazing Matcha Brownies

Happy Lunar New Year everyone!

Did any of you guys celebrate?

We were going to go to a dumpling festival, but life got in the way and we couldn’t. Oh well, maybe next year.  Or maybe, I’ll just go get dumplings myself sometime this week.  I do love dumplings.

I did, however, do something super cool on Saturday for the blog!

I got to go and do a wine tasting and talk about this local winery called Wattle Creek.  Keep a look out for that post in February

Yesterday, I was sitting thinking that I had already completely done the post for today and I realized I was supposed to make brownies!

It’s another post for the Valentine’s Day series.

And I was like, ‘Oh, crap!’ Because I hadn’t even thought of what kind of brownies I was going to do or which of my recipes would be best and I started freaking out.

I am a very organized person when it comes to my blog, so having forgotten something is like a sin to me.

I was talking to one of my best friend’s, who loves matcha, and came up with a great idea… A matcha brownie.

I looked on pinterest at all of the recipes and none of them were what I wanted and none of them looked like I wanted mine to look.

So I had to brainstorm and fast.

B only sleeps a few hours and I literally only have that amount of time to do anything blog related. (Other than before he wakes up and after he goes to bed.)

I took one of my old brownie recipes and I substituted a large portion of the cocoa with the matcha green tea powder.

I was a little hesitant because I didn’t know how this was going to taste, but I was confident it would be good.

I added a little milk chocolate chips into it so that I had a little sweetness to counterbalance the earthy tones of the matcha.

When It was finished, I could barely wait for it to cool down.  I cut off a piece and it was perfect. It was dense and fudgy with sweet little chocolate morsels throughout out.  And the matcha was the perfect amount.
