Cajun Alfredo collaboration with Food Guru

I was approached by Food Guru to do a video of one of my recipes and I was super stoked! I love their videos and I love the girl, Ariel, who films the videos.  She super chill and easy to talk to.

I had to figure out what the best recipe was to film, I wanted it to be something pretty, tasty, and something that makes people’s mouths water.  I knew what it would be!  My Cajun Alfredo. I’ve been working on getting the recipe perfect since the last time that I posted about it.

It has more flavor and is easier to make.

Ariel was surprised when we were finished so early.  Actually, I was super surprised too, I forgot how easy it is to make this wonderful alfredo.

Cajun Alfredo

  • 2 Tbs Butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 pint milk or cream
  • 1 yellow pepper sliced
  • 1 red pepper sliced
  • 3 tbs cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbs Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbs oregano
  • 1/2 tbs rosemary
  • 4 andouille sausages sliced
  • 1 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 lb fettuccine cooked to package directions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Over a medium high heat melt butter, add in flour slowly
  2. Whisk in milk, peppers, and seasoning
  3. Allow to cook down for about 5 minutes
  4. Cook fettuccine to directions on package
  5. Add sausage, allow to cook down for 5 minutes, add parmesan
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Serve over fettuccine

You get the creaminess from a regular alfredo, but then you get a bit of spice from the peppers, seasoning, and andouille.

It is the perfect meal.
I love the video that Food Guru put together, it’s gorgeous and really shows all the pretty colors of the alfredo!

Thank you, Debbie and Ariel, for creating something so beautiful!

Saturday night I had the awesome opportunity to go to Flavors of Napa with Hetal from Milk and Cardamom.

I didn’t get photos, I was too busy eating and drinking wine, but it was one of the most fun food events that I’ve been too in a while!  I had so much fun with Hetal. And we got to experience food for the Napa Valley that we normally wouldn’t eat.

Hopefully, there will be a few blog posts in the future about Napa!
