Mommy needs a daiquiri
It is Friday!
This week has flown by. I can’t believe it! I feel like it was just yesterday that I posted an awesome fajita recipe, that I'm hungry for again...
I get to spend the day at the dentist getting the finishing touches to my teeth finally being fixed! I am definitely going to need a drink after all of that poking a prodding.
It’s almost summer, so I have frozen drinks on my mind. I’ve been experimenting with different kinds of frozen drinks, from my morning smoothy, to margaritas and daiquiris. The conclusion that I have is, I really like cold drinks.
They really remind me of the hot, Texas nights, during the summer. My friend and I would go to this place and get frozen daiquiris and just sit out and enjoy a cool, if not brief, breeze. I do miss Texas sometimes for that. San Francisco is so cold at night.
For my first MomNoms After Dark-recipe version, I decided to share with you all one of my frozen daiquiris. Gareth says that it tastes like a smoothie, so I guess that’s good if you don’t actually like the taste of alcohol.
I still can’t believe it’s Friday. I was sick for ½ the week, like really sick, which isn’t fun with a baby. And the rest of the week, I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
I got to meet up with another blogger on Wednesday, Miss CheeseMonger, as she is known in the blogging world. She is perhaps one of the sweetest people that I have ever met and she didn’t mind me bringing Braedon over to her house for us to cook! That’s a friend bonus, in my books! With her cheese skills and my bacon skills, we came up with a killer Mac and Cheese recipe that will be featured on both of our blogs.
Back to the daiquiri, it’s perfect for the long summer nights ahead, it’s also perfect for when you need to cool off after running after your crawling child for the past 10 hours. Yes, this is what my life has become.
A daiquiri is usually a citrus drink mixed with rum, mine takes the classic, adds a few more fruits, some ice, bitters, and triple sec and makes it into this tropical oasis for your mouth. Seriously, it makes me dream of being on a beach in a bikini, reading some romance novel. That sounds like the perfect vacation/day for me *cough* if you’re looking for a birthday present. *cough*
Are you ready for the Tropical Frozen Daiquiri recipe? Of course you are, it is Friday night after all!
